I usually pour my creative energy into sports graphics, but securing a ticket for Kanye’s upcoming show in the Netherlands sparked a fresh direction—merging my passions for music and fashion into a concept poster. Although I don’t endorse every statement or action he’s made, seeing him live has always been on my bucket list, and I wanted the artwork to honor that excitement.

Capturing Graduation-Era Magic for Kanye West at the GelreDome
Nostalgia as a Starting Point
To evoke the kaleidoscopic optimism of his Graduation era, I began with a vintage photo of Kanye in his signature shutter shades. I fractured the portrait into four tonal layers, each tinted with a curated blend of purples, greens, and blues the palette that defined that album cycle.
Hidden Stories within the Image
Subtlety was key: I embedded a collage of iconic concert moments inside those color layers, allowing long-time fans to discover Easter-egg memories without overwhelming first-time viewers. The layered approach keeps the composition clean while rewarding a closer look.
GelreDome as Center Stage
To root the poster in place, I positioned the stadium beneath Kanye’s head so it feels as though his energy is erupting from the venue itself. Soft blue lens flares radiate upward, guiding the eye and hinting at the scale of the live production.
Visual Rhythm and Final Touches
A white background lets every element breathe, while a custom sound-wave graphic emanating from Kanye’s mouth injects motion and literally gives his voice visual form. Square-grid overlays, selective color grading, and gradient maps tie everything together into the nostalgic, high-energy vibe I envisioned.
The result is a poster that balances personal reverence with design precision celebrating the artist, the venue, and the once-in-a-lifetime experience awaiting us all.
